Overall great experience. We came here for brunch and the food was great ,atmosphere was even pleasant,restaurant decor had character and the lady (not sure her name she had black hair and black smart shirt and was behind bar) was very polite and very warm personality. Portions and flavour was really good for the food . Only downfall was we sat in the booth which didn't have table service so we had to order through the QR code ,unfortunately some of the items on the paper menu didn't come up on the online menu ( think veggie sharing platter was one of them) so we still had to get up and place the order at the bar . Also our veggie sharing platter was ment to have tzatziki included which also wasn't served in our platter. However ,overall the food was great ,restaurant is close to all the shops ,parking,market etc and would definitely come back here when in St.albans.

We hadn't been to Bill's for some time as we had some issues with St Albans and Watford branches in the past. That said we were very impressed with our recent visit to St Albans. The restaurant has had a complete makeover and really has a nice relaxed feel to it. The menu has changed considerably and offers more variety but the best part of all was the excellent service and staff. They were friendly attentive and seemed far better trained than on previous visits. Would revisit and recommend.

Sunday table 60 12pm onwards we had a lovely Gent who served us and was amazing. Great meal for my sister's birthday.

Stunning Restaurant with Amazing Service. The ivy chains are always amazing, the interior decor is beautiful with a stunning bar on entry. The staff are very polite and helpful. We went for the two course menu for £19. We had the tuna starter and the steak and fries for main. All were delicious. They also had mushroom soup, duck parfait for starters and shepherd pie or fish for mains. The food was to a very high quality and was great. We had sticky toffee pudding and crème Brûlée for dessert. Would recommend visiting Parking: Parking is available opposite in St Christopher’s Place.

Very great service, quick, easy and will be coming back in the future. Andrea was very friendly as she helped get us situated right away. Our server Alviya was splendid. Very nice, attentive and always made sure we were good. Sunday roast was delicious.

Relaxing restaurant for a drink. We didn't try the food however did see some plates coming from the kitchen and they looked very good. Tried the west end hold up cocktail and it was fruity and really good. Well worth the prices.

Going to Thompson is a full experience and not just a basic dinner with some banality courses that don't say anything to your night. It's a full experience where the wine and food blend together in such a manner that couldn't be anything else that a good night. The chef deserves a full compliment, and the friendly team will take care of you in such a manner that you'll feel important fr9m the first step in the restaurant. Thank you so much for a lovely evening! We will come back with the first occasion.

A fabulous afternoon spent in the private dining room. 9 course taster menu for 12 friends. Lovely service, beautiful seasonal food and fun cocktails. Thank you so much for hosting us so well.

We’ve just had another outstandingly good meal. St Albans, you are so lucky to have this restaurant.
