Came across this place with a friend and we had cod and chips and haddock and chips with garden peas. Tartare sauce was complimentary on each plate. The chips were great - not soggy or overcooked. The fish was great as well, seemed pretty fresh and perfectly cooked. The only *very slight* let-down was the ketchup didn't seem to be genuine, but it was still very good. The staff were really nice and really friendly and even waved to us through the window as we walked away on the street. It also had a classic British fast food aesthetic to the place with clean and well maintained vinyl seating. A great experience. I would definitely recommend this place and would definitely go again.

The best Fish & Chips that i have eaten in St Albans. Excellent portion size served by a real gentleman. Recommended.

The plaice, chips and peas I had were excellent. The plaice was perfectly cooked and the batter was light, crispy and delicious. The service was warm, friendly and efficient. I will definitely be back for more.

THE RIDGEWAY FISH BAR REVIEWS

First time to get food here since the ownership changed. The particular attraction is the availability of gluten free rock eel on Wednesdays. Ordered online so the food was waiting for me on arrival. Once home, both sets of fish and chips were hot, crisp and obviously newly cooked. Very enjoyable overall.

Very lovely fish and chips The bar is very clean and service was great food very well packed, my grandchildren were offered sweets for while we waited for food to cook, excellent.

Tasty food, all cooked to order. Repeat visits confirm good food and service. Been back many times since and always good. Back again and tasty as ever. Repeat visits say all.
