St Michael's Church is the only active church of the five originally in the medieval walled town. The church is a Grade I listed building. The church spire was likely first built in the fifteenth century, rebuilt in 1732, and then elevated by nine feet in the 1870s at the request of Trinity House to aid ships coming up Southampton Water. The church has served thousands of people with religious services, masses, and prayers. St Michael's Church has an organ, which is still used by the choir group for prayers and other events. The church has a calming and pleasant environment, attracting people for weekend masses and other events.
