MARINO'S FISH BAR REVIEWS

Stopped in last week for fish and chips. Service was excellent. All the ladies working were extremely friendly and efficient, the service was quick and I felt very welcome. The fish was amazing. Perfectly cooked and a large solid fillet, not greasy at all. Chips were great and a very healthy portion to boot. In addition, my northern Mum gave the mushy peas high praise (in her terms) by saying “They weren’t bad for the south”. All around a great experience, will definitely be back. 10/10.

Probably the best fish and chips in Canterbury! Always cooked fresh and really nice batter on the fish. Good portions too and a pretty extensive menu.

The best fish and chips I've ever had, and the service to match! Great experience from start to finish, friendly staff and fantastic food. An absolute must try! I highly recommend the battered halloumi as a side with the fish of your choice and the best chips you'll ever eat.

Great fish, fast service and helpful staff. The place was recommended to us by our tour guide who took us on the nearby boat cruise. We tried their standard fish and chips. The fish felt fresh and everything was nice and crunchy. Definitely one of the best places in Cantebury to try the traditional fish and chips.

My children took over the restaurant and Pedro was amazing. He entertained them for close to an hour (even put a song on, which they all danced to together.

I’ve been going to this fish and chip shop since I was in secondary school 26 years ago. I moved to Sydney, renowned for its seafood and I can honestly say City Fish Bar is still the best fish and chips in the whole world. Not only that, but the family that run it are lovely. I would be devastated if this place ever closed, so please support them if you are in the area! I make it my mission to go every time I’m home.

Spent the weekend in Canterbury and this chip shop was close to my hotel. Everything I had from there was freshly cooked and the cod bites meal with chips and mushy peas was ridiculously good! A nice looking shop and experienced good service both times I was there. Recommended.

Very tasty fish ‘n chips; large portions at a very reasonable price. Recommended.

Excellent experience with The Deep Blue fish and chip shop in Canterbury yesterday ...we placed an pre order for a large family gathering for Good Friday..... hot and delicious food enjoyed by all....many thanks to the very helpful staff. Would highly recommend.
