Cafe Du Soleil features a beautiful dining room upstairs, available for private use at no charge for groups of 16 or more (30 or more on Saturdays). The oak-beamed room overlooks the River Stour and can be arranged to suit your event, with options for a single banquet table (30 feet long) seating up to 30 people, multiple tables for up to 55, or a mix of seating and standing room for 70 for more informal gatherings. They also offer several specials and promotions, including happy hour from 5 pm to 6 pm and a set menu special from 3 pm to 6 pm, Monday to Friday. For those with dietary restrictions, they provide gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan menus. Outdoor seating and great cocktails are also available.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at this fantastic French restaurant, and it was an experience I won't soon forget. The service was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and truly made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the black pudding. It was cooked to absolute perfection, with a rich, savory flavour that was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. The texture was just right—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside—and it paired beautifully with the rest of the breakfast. Every bite was a revelation, showcasing the chef’s skill in elevating a classic dish to new heights. The atmosphere was equally delightful, with a warm, inviting setting that made for a perfect start to the day. Whether you’re a fan of traditional French cuisine or simply looking for an outstanding breakfast, this restaurant is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return and indulge in more of their culinary delights!

Staff were extremely kind and accommodating, came in right before the kitchen closed and still gave me the best service possible. Served by 3 servers and one lady who appeared to the manager/owner on a laptop in the corner. Great staff and great food. Lemon&raspberry sorbet is amazing.

We had a great time at Côte Canterbury, where everything was approached with attention. The ratatouille with goat cheese and beans is a very delicious twist on the traditional dish. Looking forward to visit other locations of the restaurant.

Went to Canterbury and found this lovely restaurant by the river. Sat outside and all I can say is wow. Special set menu Monday - Friday in the day, very reasonable for the quality. Had one of the best beef carpaccio’s I’ve eaten (best was in Paris) and then a cracking nduja/salami wood fired pizza that I only just finished… shame to waste amazing food. One of the nicest menu’s I’ve seen in a while… fancied everything. The service also gets a special mention (lady with the smile and braces) couldn’t have done more for us and you can tell they had been trained well. Highly recommend if you come to Canterbury… inside good vibes and good music. Best to book especially at weekends. Happy Eating :)

They had one of the best duck confit I'd ever tried in my life. Everything in the duck confit dish was perfect. The pizza was amazing. The side ratatouille was miss though.

Very nice variation on the Italian bruschetta, delicious! Excellent lamb and, unfortunately, a bit to 'salty' carpaccio. Right atmosphere and polite personell, recommended!

Genuinely, one of the best cafes I have ever been in the UK. Nice service. The staff was very nice and friendly. The pastries and sweet were delicious and not too sweet. We really love the apple tart and custard cake. The atmosphere was lovely. I'd would definitely come back if I got a chance to visit Canterbury again.

Delightful cosy cafe with delicious baked goods and good cafe. The garden is a hidden gem - was a tad too cold on the day that we were there otherwise we would have sat outside. Service was a bit slow but when someone finally came they were friendly and nice.

Fabulous French cafe in the centre of Canterbury - as good as anything you'd find in France. Great pattiserie, petit dejeuner and light lunches. Nice staff and lovely French owners. Chilled back garden courtyard - great spot on sunny days. Highly recommended.
