LINFORDS TRADITIONAL FISH & CHIPS REVIEWS

We used the takeaway, i was expecting something a little better. The food was yummy, the only reason for 4* was the chips let them down this time. They were cooking with new potatoes and were what i would call "whissened", (the look of the chip looked like it had had all the air sucked out of it). This is not the fault of the fryer but due to the amount of water evaporating from the chip as it cooks. I was also a bit concerned as to the colour of the chips, very yellow, I'd be interested to know what variety they used (or if it was something to do with their preparation.

Where do I begin. Firstly I genuinely dont know the owners. I can honestly say that the food I have just eaten is the best fish and chips I have ever had! They are credited in the uk top 10 venues by Fry and you can see why. The fish is succulent and fresh and the batter has such a lightness. The chips are fantastic and they operate policy of giving you as many as you want. The food is so hot, so tasty and more importantly the quality is consistent. I have seen a couple of reviews that I would question based on my own experience. For info we travel about 25 mikes for this and it’s so worth it. Ps all staff are always so friendly too. Finally, I know that this review is over the top enthusiastic but I think it’s important that such a hidden gem in little old Market Deeping gets a big old shout out. They made our afternoon today. Thank you.

Best chip shop around. Great food. Great service. Will always buy my fish and chips from here. Favourite is the 3 pcs chicken meal (comes with chips) for £7.95. Great price and great food.

Absolutely glorious food! I tried the battered sausages and OMG it was so tasty! The batter has the perfect crisp as you bite into it and the sausage was just full of juices I could've had a dozen! Lovely staff! Easy going and nice to chat to! It only took less than 5 minutes to receive the few items I needed too! Overall, a very respectable and great establishment.

Another fantastic dinner for the family we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the best fish and chip shop .

Best chippy in peterborough. Fish and chips excellent and of good quality. Fair prices and excellent customer service. Highly recommend a visit.

Excellent service, very clean and tidy shop, the best fish and chips that I've ever had, and I've been eating fish and chips for decades, and all over the country. The fish was wonderful; fresh, cooked expertly, crunchy where it mattered - a pure delight. The chips were equally good, and the portions better than any other. I had a large haddock and regular chips (see photos). For the first time ever, I had my fish and chips without my ketchup. I just wanted to taste it before driving off but once I did that I didn't stop till I had finished it. I'll be back there today for another go. If you happen to be in Whittlesey or Peterborough, and really like fish and chips, I'd heartily recommend the Royal Fish Bar.

By Far the BEST Fish and Chips I have ever had. Big portions as well. Staff are always friendly. Highly recommend.

Always come here when visiting relations. Portion size huge - service great. Only issue this last visit was the price. We went on line and ordered from the menu. The bill should have been £21.60. When I collected the order it was £28.20 and a receipt was attached. I queried the amount and was told I must have used an out of date menu. When I said it was online I was told they weren’t on line So I asked for a new menu. They didn’t have any. Nothing wrong with the food - they just need to keep their web pages up to date. (Which I checked afterwards by the way).
