Cardiff Castle is one of Cardiff's foremost heritage attractions, featuring an ornate pleasure palace designed by the Victorian architect William Burges. Nestled within beautiful parklands at the heart of the city centre, this castle boasts a rich history spanning over 2000 years, encompassing Cardiff's earliest settlement, events up to the Second World War, and beyond. It has hosted Roman soldiers who rested within its walls and noble knights who held court within its halls. The Bute family, driven by extraordinary wealth and vision, transformed the castle into a romantic Victorian fantasy. The castle's picturesque grounds invite visitors to stroll along the battlements and admire some of the most lavishly decorated rooms. Various guided tours are available, including Castle house tours, Christmas house tours, Clocktower tours, Film location tours, and Connoisseur tours. Cardiff Castle also offers an excellent destination for families to spend leisure time together.

CARDIFF CASTLE REVIEWS
Cardiff Castle offers a unique blend of history and beauty right in the heart of the city. With its intriguing mix of Roman and Norman heritage, every corner tells a story. The castle grounds are a peaceful oasis, perfect for reflecting on the rich tapestry of events that have taken place there. Exploring its chambers and battlements was a personal highlight of my visit to Cardiff. Truly a destination that resonates with both history buffs and casual visitors alike.
Great experience. We booked the tickets online and the price is quite reasonable. Inside the castle you can walk around and explore the wall and also enter one of the buildings. The staff was very friendly and professional. They really took care of the building and you can appreciate the effort put into renovation, making it a very unique historical place to visit. Totally worth it.
It is a must-see. It is really beautiful and was worth the visit. I have captured many beautiful photos. You will need to buy tickets at the entrance. Also, it is worth mentioning that You must wear comfortable shoes as you will need to climb many narrow stairs.

INSOLE COURT REVIEWS
Gorgeous place, so beautiful done up! Gorgeous garden around it, and lovely teashop! Nice place, we spend around 1 to 2 hours. Also the vegetable community garden is worth a visit! Once a month there is a farmer's market, every last Sunday of the month from 9 till 1, delicious bread, cheese, meat plants, spices, chocolates, craft beers and ciders. My favourite was fermented vegetables, delicious!
A great place for walks. Beautifully looked after grounds with magnificent trees. Lots of little pathways meandering through the trees. The house itself is lovely, today there were window cleaners who had a very big job to do, I lost count of the number of windows. The interior is amazing, beautiful tiled floors, high ceilings, all original fireplaces and a beautiful stairs. Always happy to go for a wander and a coffee.
A beautiful place in a middle of the city. A lovely place to have a writing retreat with nice coffee.
