Castell Coch is a well known 19 century Gothic Revival castle. It is one of the greatest Victorian triumphs of architectural composition. Their lavish interiors and an enchanting woodland setting make this castle truly magical. It remains a magnificent vision of an imaginary medieval world, and the public regularly votes it as their favourite building in Wales. The castle has two eastern towers, with a square gatehouse between them as a gated entrance. The first fortress at this location was built in 1081 by the Normans to defend Cardiff's town. You can exchange the existing Resident pass for a new monument pass at Castell Coch free of charge.

' Insole Court ' is one of the famous mansion houses in Cardiff. Insole Court is an impressive historic mansion and gardens with a fascinating history, and it is a 160-year-old house. The mansion is now ongoing restoration and has come back to life. "This House is a Stage", an exhibition that brings local history to life in the form of a dramatic version of the rise and the fall of the Insole Family, who built and inhabited the mansion. Their formerly derelict Stable Yard is now used as a vibrant hub, hosting community, corporate and private functions and serving freshly baked cakes, brunch and lunch seven days a week. There is free access to Vaughan Avenue with pedestrian entrances. Visitors can also visit the ground floor of the mansion and the ornamental gardens free of charge.
