NATIONAL RAILWAY MUSEUM REVIEWS
It's one of the best Railway Museum I have ever seen. I visited the same museum last year November month and last week this year and to my surprise the whole museum is totally changed. Before it was direct entry but now free entry via a time slot which can be Pre booked on the website. Now the Museum is divided in to multiple parts. It is having very good collection of so many types of Railway engines. Now it is having multiple washrooms, multiple cafes with variety of food items. Good place for kids to spend time in so many toys & mini railway models. It is now have multiple souvenir coin machines also installed. It will take couple of hours to complete the museum now. A very good place to know the full history of Railways.
Excellent museum with lots of space and great for children. So many trains, absolutely wonderful. Everything is of great quality and detail. You get an amazing sense of scale because you can walk right up to and even underneath in one case, the trains. Good facilities as well and great food.
The National Railway Museum is a favourite in our family. Train heaven for all ages and it's free but well worth donating or purchasing food from the museum if you can. It's such a fantastic facility I hope it's here for generations to come.

YORK CASTLE MUSEUM REVIEWS
A great museum with plenty to see and learn. Though I'd recommend checking beforehand if all the exhibits are open, as the Kirkgate building with the Victorian Street is closed for now, which was one of the reasons I went to York. However the ticket lasts for a year, so we can come back and see it another time.
Excellent value for money. The living museum and exhibitions are very interesting, would recommend leaving a few hours on your trip to York to visit here. The period actors were great and helped understand the different exhibits.
Very friendly and helpful staff on the front desk, great setup for those with young children and buggies, and such a good range of exhibits.

JORVIK VIKING CENTRE REVIEWS
This was a fantastic attraction to visit, with stairs or a lift to enter straight away from the suitable reception with nice staff! The glass floor was excavations is wonderful in the first room, where black and white imagery depicts the area in olden days beautifully. What follows on the ride is a fascinating experience, telling stories from back in time and going through the moving settings! The artefacts are incredible too, giving an insight into how people lived way back then.
Fantastic attraction. Showcases the amazing history of Viking culture in the area. Tells a great story of the actual day to day life during this time period and how Viking settlers were very much the same as others. Very well preserved historical artefacts and the glass floor excavation display is phenomenal. The showmanship is also very entertaining with staff in costume and an animatronic ride. The staff are friendly and accommodating.
Absolutely stunning museum based on the Vikings at York. Superb ride through a village with great info and set pieces, highly informative and fun at the same time. Good for all ages with kids or adult option on the voice over. Large displays of artefacts and relics after the ride plus a brilliant gift shop at the end!! What more could you want? Good value and highly recommended.
