This is mainly a seafood restaurant FYI. So if it’s not your thing don’t visit this establishment. The servers were very super nice and helpful. Any questions asked were answered. The menu looked fabulous but if you look around there are menu boards that are scattered around that are not on the paper menu. Keep your eyes peeled. Everything we smelled and saw looked fantastic. A lady leaving shouted at us that the swordfish special was amazing and she wasn’t wrong. I had the monkfish tails and they were delectable. Sampled some of my friends other dishes and they were all Great! Highly, highly recommend. I don’t think you can wrong here.

Lovely restaurant. The servers were all very lovely and helpful. Food was amazing as well, especially loved their special. Drinks are a little expensive but reasonable. Very nice atmosphere and lots of seating options.

We came for supper on Saturday night during a weekend visit to Oxford. It was our first time eating at CuttleFish, but I sincerely hope it won't be the last. I rang to book a table for two just a few hours prior and a lovely friendly voice answered the phone and took our reservation. When we arrived the restaurant was busy and full of gentle chat but never felt crowded at all. The staff were friendly, very well presented, and just the right level of attentive. The most difficult part of the entire evening was choosing what to order - I think we would have been happy with literally anything on the menu. Neither of us drink alcohol and we were very impressed by the selection of sober drinks options. I would definitely recommend the Lady Gray 'gin' mocktail, and I should imagine the real gin version is equally tasty. I ordered the frito misto with a green salad and my partner ordered a whole lobster and fries. Both were absolutely delicious (obviously I stole some of his too, immediate food envy) We have every intention of returning when we next find ourselves in Oxford, and will be recommending to friends in the meantime.

NO.1 SHIP STREET REVIEWS

We had an excellent meal at No.1 Ship Street, a fine-dining restaurant set amongst a district full of fast-casual eats and pub grub for the student crowd. They put real thought into trying to accommodate us as a walk-in party of two with the complication of a baby in a pram/stroller when it would have been easy to simply say “no, we are full.” My halibut on squid ink risotto was excellent; my wife’s mussels and fries were good too. Table service was good, if a bit slow at times. I would definitely come back to No.1 Ship Street and recommend it to others.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the team for an amazing experience and a great way to end my graduation day! Amazing food and service, and I would definitely recommend the lobster! While a little more expensive than some restaurants I've been to, it's definitely worth the price.

Last night, my wife and I had a delightful dining experience at No.1 Ship Street in Oxford. The restaurant exudes a romantic ambiance with its dim lighting, making it perfect for an intimate evening. We were particularly impressed with the seafood, which was fresh and flavorful, and the snails were a standout dish. The extensive variety of cocktails and drinks added to the enjoyment of our meal. Located conveniently in the heart of Oxford, No.1 Ship Street is a posh spot.

I will remember today's meal for a very long time, if not forever. The KFC Style Cockle Popcorn was an amazing start to our lunch—the gherkins and crispy onions were a fantastic addition that balanced the dish perfectly. The soft shell crab was cooked to a perfect crisp, and the oysters were incredibly fresh. The standout dish, though, was the Shellfish Cow Taster Cataplana in Provençal Sauce. Everything was cooked to perfection, with beautifully balanced and layered flavors that made us feel like we were dining in France. Dipping the freshly baked baguette into the sauce was the highlight of my day! The people there were welcoming and relaxed, exactly how I love it. We stumbled upon this place by chance on a random visit to Wallingford, and I'm so glad we did. Absolutely loved it.

We booked a last minute weekend in Wallingford and were delighted to find we could bring our dog. He’s really quiet and well behaved, but we are used to having to go to pubs with him. It’s brilliant that a quality restaurant is also dog friendly. Anyhow everything else is fabulous - decor, the welcome and the service, the cocktails. And the food is outstanding. A wonderful experience.

Always a great choice. I have celiac disease and nearly everything is gluten free (aside from the bread and the fish and chips). Delicious food, high quality and fresh ingredients, and eccentric, bright atmosphere. Definitely find your way here. They even upgraded my partners prawns to tiger prawns for free. We had the fried cockles, cataplana platter, and fried softshell crab.
