'The Chesil Rectory' is a unique and historic restaurant located in Winchester. The restaurant occupies a 600-year-old grade II listed Medieval house of exceptional character and charm. 'The Chesil Rectory' still has many original features including solid oak beam, ancient doorways and beautiful open fireplaces. Head Chef, Damian Brown, uses fresh ingredients and quality local produce to create simple, delicious classics. They offer a modern British menu featuring simple, classic, seasonal dishes and an abundance of fresh local produce. 'The Black Rat Restaurant' is a quaint and quirky restaurant that is situated on the fringe of the town centre along Chesil Street. The restaurant is located on Chesil street at the bottom of the town centre, about an 8-10 minute walk from King Alfred's statue. They are open for dinner seven nights a week, as well as lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Their wine list boasts some 80 wines with a balance between Old and New world from their supplier Ellis Of Richmond. There is also a private dining room upstairs for all occasions, plus a comfy lounge and well-stocked bar. They have a small but well-stocked bar upstairs, where you can relax and take a cocktail or aperitif before you dine. Their private dining room holds up to 16 people and is available to book for special occasions. They also have a small garden where you can dine in one of their heated huts.
