WALK & TRAIN EDINBURGH REVIEWS
Having a highly dog reactive GSD, I got in touch with Linnea seeking help and I'm extremely glad I did. While we're not at that stage where he doesn't react at all, Linnea has helped me tremendously with management and things I can work on to counter condition my best friend when there are other dogs around. You're not alone when you take Linnea on as your trainer as she is very accessible and communicates her thoughts and ideas clearly and in language anyone can understand. You and your dog couldn't ask for a better trainer and friend. Thank you Linnea, Gregor and Ida.
We can't thank Amy and River enough for all their help with our dog Jura, an 18 month old lurcher. We re-homed him a few months ago and realised quickly that he was really struggling when we left him - mainly barking/howling and started to show some destructive behaviours. We got in touch with Edinburgh Dog Behaviour pretty quickly and are so glad we did! In a few months, we have gone from not being able to leave him alone at all to leaving him for an hour and a half, with the time constantly increasing as we train. Amy was amazing with us and was very reassuring - as we were so stressed when we started the process. When we finished our separation anxiety block, she sent us a really thorough personalised guide for Jura which has given us the tools to continue training long-term and go from strength to strength. Now Jura is such a happy care-free dog cannot recommend enough!
We contacted Walk & Train to help with our collie x lab who became reactive to new people and dogs about a year old. Linnea has changed our lives. We couldn’t walk along the street. Now Max happily walks along busy pavements and sits in cafes while people step over him. The big difference between Linnea and other trainers we have worked with is that she is training me, not Max - and that’s the key. She expertly spotted where we were going wrong and taught us what we needed to do. And the group classes are fantastic. Seems so simple to provide the chance to be neutral around other dogs in a structured way, but it works. Thank you!

ACTION 4 DOGS EDINBURGH REVIEWS
Max has been such a pleasure to work with. Me and my partner were needing advice and training techniques for Teddy, our 2 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who had recently become reactive to other dogs on walks.. Max was quick to divise a plan of action and showed us lots of techniques that changed our way of thinking and put us at ease right away which has made life for us and Teddy so much better. We really can't thank him enough for his help and he has continued to support us months after our session!
Highly recommend Max Muir . He gave me great insight into my dog's behaviour, and those words, it's always the owner's fault , were not spoken ...this was so important as an owner can feel very guilt ridden for their dog's issues. He was calm , professional, full of great advice when working with my dog and me .He gave me a very clear plan which wasn't overly complicated . And , yes ! , it is working. 10 out of 10.
I would highly recommend Max to anyone. His relaxed, calm approach made me feel completely at ease and he is a fountain of knowledge. After just one meeting I feel more confident and positive in training my dog and look forward to what she will achieve soon! Max is understanding and caters to your individual needs and takes the time to really understand your dog. I genuinely learned more in our 2 hour session than I have searching online for months! Thank you Max!

EDINBURGH HOLISTIC DOGS REVIEWS
We first met Suzanne a few months ago after we had a difficult altercation with a dog who was off lead we felt that we needed some help with his occasional reactivity and teaching him calm associations. Arlo could bark quite a lot in frustration and lunge towards other dogs. What a way he has come in a few months with Suzanne’s support and understanding of his needs we were able to put in place some training to follow. We quickly adapted this to every day situations whilst out walking and were soon able to walk past other dogs safely and quietly - we have also managed to cut down the use of his halti head collar and no longer use it in our usual walking routes. Never in a million years did I think I would be able to walk my boy without a head collar but now we can! He is so much happier and so are we! Can’t recommend Suzanne enough!
Suzanne has helped Mark and I to feel more confident with how to help our dog with her reactivity. When we first met Suzanne our dog wouldn't even take treats outside but she does now. We've also worked on Tilly's recall, how to distract her from dogs who are passing by, how to get her attention outside and what to do in different scenarios. We've seen progress in a short time. We are continuing to embed the strategies Suzanne has showed us. Suzanne was flexible with times we could do for sessions and gave us detailed follow up notes. Thanks a lot.
From the first call, Suzanne's passion for her work came through. She gave us techniques to manage our dog while we were still waiting to have our first session with her. Her techniques emphasise on understanding the dog and providing a very clear and repeatable message of positive reinforcement. She has always been polite, punctual and respectful. She is a great listener and is very empathetic. She typed up detailed notes for reference and sent it at the end of each session which was very useful. Unlike other trainers we've worked with, she acknowledged that there will be bad days and not to be hard on ourselves or our dog on those days. She invited us to have walkabouts with her former / current clients who had similar experiences with their reactive dogs. In 3 months, our dog has come a long way and doesn't react to every dog any more. This has given us a lot of confidence to slowly socialise her with other dogs and experiment training her on a long lead; which were all a distant dream.
