I cannot recommend Max highly enough.After trying many different training classes and methods ( some of which we were asked to leave) I contacted Max at Action 4 Dogs He took time to get to know my dog and I could not believe the connection he developed with him in a short space of time.He has helped me understand why other training failed and was really patient and explained everything really clearly. The love of dogs and connection he has with them is amazing. Already there is a huge difference in my dogs engagement with me, he is learning new things with enthusiasm and Max has made us a much happier dog and human. We now have a great time training and learning together.

My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Max @Action 4 Dogs recently for a training session for my labrador puppy. I had dabbled a little bit in gundog training with my working line flat coat but was wanting specific retrieving training to iron out a couple of issues. Max took his time to find out what exactly I was looking for, he was patient and understanding and devised a training plan that suits my dog and I am pleased to say that only after a few days of putting his advice into practice, I have already seen some massive improvement. Max was kind, helpful and full of good advice. And very important to me, trained in a reward-based manner rather than the harsh traditional handling. I can only recommend Max and will recommend him on. And I will be back for more to take my boy's training further. Thank you Max.

Before working with Suzanne we were at the end of our tether with our over excitable and reactive dog Clia. Those days are long gone thanks to Suzanne. She has been wonderful throughout the entire process taking the time to get to know our dogs needs. Most importantly she made us feel like we could succeed, putting us on a path which was manageable from the beginning. Suzanne was incredibly caring and understanding towards us which was so important. It was clear from day one that this was something we really missed out on with other trainers we had worked with. Sessions were scheduled to match Clia's progress which was very helpful. Suzanne was such a great and reassuring support! I reached out to her following a recommendation from the Edinburgh cat & dog centre. My 2,5 year old Border Collie is unhappy with dogs approaching and people wanting to fuss around her too extensively. I also felt that the way she moved around was a bit stiff. Suzanne established a great rapport with Lotti straight away and they worked really well together. Suzanne helped me to polish up a good few of my trainings and also put a comprehensive report together about Lotti's abnormal movement for the vet to read it. While I am still in the process of getting to the bottom of the issue with Lotti's physical health, I am truly grateful for Suzanne for helping me with this report and with all the reassurances. We were lucky enough to find Suzanne after moving to Edinburgh from Cornwall at the beginning of the year. The move had highlighted ongoing issues we had with our Romanian rescue, and we had become very stressed and anxious walking her in our new city environment. Suzanne immediately gave us hope that nothing that was happening was unique or incurable and with a detailed plan and face to face sessions, we set about retraining our dog and ourselves. We have just completed our sessions and to say it has been life changing is not an understatement. As a unit we are so much happier and we are now well on our way to having a happy confident little dog. We have had our dog for 3.5 years, and only wish we had had these tools for her from the beginning, but now that we do, we will continue to use them with great success. It’s never too late !
