Mr Sanjeev Agarwal is a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery, practising at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff and Spire Cardiff Hospital. After completing his medical degree, he earned recognition as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1999. He then embarked on a comprehensive six-year specialist training program in Orthopaedics within the Leeds Orthopaedic Program, during which he developed a keen interest in managing hip and knee conditions. He pursued a clinical fellowship program on hip and knee replacements, complex reconstructions, and revisions. This specialized training occurred at the prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in Boston, USA, affiliated with Harvard Medical School. During his year-long tenure at MGH, he collaborated with renowned experts in hip and knee surgery. MGH is renowned as a high-volume tertiary referral centre and is considered one of the top orthopaedic units in the United States, known for pioneering innovations and cutting-edge research. This invaluable experience significantly influenced and enriched Mr. Agarwal's surgical practice in the UK. His contributions to the field extend beyond his clinical practice. He has authored over 25 research papers published in peer-reviewed journals and has contributed review articles to journals and chapters in esteemed reference books. Notable among his contributions is his involvement in 'The Adult Hip,' a premier reference book for hip surgery, and another book published by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Furthermore, he has edited an Orthopaedic textbook intended for specialists and higher surgical trainees in the UK, which was published in September 2012 and garnered a readership spanning multiple nations.
