“Ormeau Park features a large play area with many items themed around maritime and castle elements. The park includes eco trails, a children's playground, and orienteering routes. Ormeau Park offers electric scooters for Shopmobility members to use. The park contains a variety of horticultural, wildlife, woodland, and sporting facilities. The park is open daily from early morning until night. Ormeau Park has facilities for basketball, netball, soccer, and tennis, as well as bowling greens, pavilions, car parking, cycling paths, eco trails, horticultural displays, an orienteering course, a playground, seasonal bedding, trees, and multiple walking routes. The playground will be fitted with new top-of-the-range equipment that children of all ages and abilities can enjoy.

2025 Update: Ormeau Park features picnic tables and public restrooms. Dogs are also allowed here.”

“Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park is beautiful for kids and features a beautifully landscaped garden. The park contains international camellia trials, a walled garden, and a Japanese-style garden with water features for quiet contemplation. The park covers over 128 acres and was established in the mid-18th century. This park also has a children's playground, a barbecue area, picnic tables, and a bottle bank. Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park provide full car parking facilities. The park is home to the Belfast International Rose Garden, which attracts thousands of visitors to its Rose Week celebrations in July each year.

2025 Update: Dogs are allowed in the park. A public restroom is available in Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park.”

ORMEAU PARK REVIEWS

I recently visited this park and had a wonderful experience. The park is peaceful and quiet, and it feels like you are connected to nature. I took a leisurely stroll around the park and admired the beauty of the trees and the grass. There were people jogging, walking their dogs, and playing fetch with their dogs. I found a nice bench to sit on and read my book in the peaceful atmosphere. The park was well-maintained and clean and I felt safe and relaxed. I definitely recommend visiting this park if you're looking for some peace and quiet, and a break from the city. I'm sure you'll have a great experience just like I did!

My friend and I went here to see Lizzo. The park is lovely and plenty of people around trying to keep the rubbish down as best they could. Lots of security and staff to guide you. Plenty of food trucks with a variety of things to eat at each one. There was a shuttle bus service to and from the venue which was great as we had struggled to get a taxi.

Lovely park for walks with friends and dogs. Great for park runs on a Saturday morning. Sunbathing in summer, meeting with friends and going cycling. There's a park for kids. I think there is a basketball court or else it's for tennis. Toilets too.

SIR THOMAS AND LADY DIXON PARK REVIEWS

I really enjoyed my short but sweet visit to Lady Dixon Park. The park is old & there are a few bumpy bits for wheelchair users. A lot of the paths are flat, though with wide entrances where possible. The cafe is very accessible & the vegetable soup with wheaten was delicious! We had our toddling nephew & his bike, but no buggy. More exploring next time. The play park is great. Dogs are not allowed in the playpark but are free to roam everywhere else. The park is kept in excellent condition. Lots to experience.

Great place to visit and great out of the busy city. It's quiet and clean. Sufficient space for a good walk and even a picnic with the family. There is also a small place for chileren to play. Obviously the stars of the park are the roses. Such a variety of roses from different parts of the world. Simply amazing. Some areas are filled will the nice smell from the flowers making the experience even better. Certainly worth visiting the place.

Lovely park in Belfast. Very well maintained. Timings depend on the sun. So peaceful. You could spend hours walking in this slice of heaven. There's a lovely rose garden. They have a cafe for a quick snack or cup of tea or coffee. Had a great time here.

Love this park wee bit of something for all. Wooded trail on central island outdoor gym equipment football pitches. Outer area has large pond small lake with swans cranes and other wading and water birds paths wide in good condition and flat there's a bowling green and area for bikes . No shortage of seating a wee oasis in the city.

There's an island to walk around, a lake with swans, ducks and pigeons. Great for cycling, running, clearing the head, walking the dog and bringing the kids. Theres free parking, bike stands to lock your bike. There's a toilet but today it was out of order.

A wonderful park for relaxation for the whole family, long walks. Peace and quiet in the depths of the forest. Cafe. You can follow the trail . A great place for the whole family, for active people and walkers, a place for children to play, a fenced park, a quiet and beautiful green place
