Cudmore Grove Country Park is a scenic nature reserve on Mersea Island, covering over 102 acres. Cudmore Grove Country Park is famous for its hot summer, offering a cooling sea breeze and sandy beach. The area is rich in historic features, including WWII pillboxes and gun emplacements, the remains of a 16th-century blockhouse fort, and a cliff that has produced 300,000-year-old fossils, such as monkey, bear, and bison remains. Cudmore Grove Country Park is ideal for picnicking, paddling, birdwatching, beachcombing, and letting imaginations run wild with friends and family. Visitors are encouraged to pay for car parking online using MiPermit.
