Stayed for 1 night in downstairs dog friendly room, Very comfortable bed with a good size bathroom and great shower. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order and was perfect. Also had dinner which my wife and I loved (3 courses) with a good choice on the menu. Good range of beer and wine but you will pay for the location. Nice dining areas including the dog friendly section *also welcome in bar. Plenty of staff so never waited for anyrhing. Friendly and welcoming. Arrive early as parking can be tricky. Would definitely return.

Lovely little pub! Stopped in for a pint and a bite while in Scotland for the Women’s British Open. Clearly a favourite for the locals. Great atmosphere and excellent service and team. No bookings available for the restaurant (full) unfortunately, but the menu looked delicious! Ordered from the Bar BBQ menu instead and enjoyed the lobster and the watermelon/feta salad. Would visit again for sure if ever back in town.

Just popped in rather late and hungry. Lovely warm welcome from the barman and had the best plate of fish and chips I've had for ages! Will definitely be back to try some more of their pub grub.

Enjoyed a lovely Scottish breakfast with the usual favourites including haggis. Service was very good. Would have been better if the hot drinks were included in the breakfast price. Overall very enjoyable start to the day before we ventured down the Glen, (pittencrief park)which is just across the rd.

Went for birthday dinner. Lovely restaurant, friendly staff. Dog friendly too which was brilliant. Had brilliant food , desserts were fab. Will definitely go back .

Exceptional service, from arranging booking to the food service. I can’t speak highly enough of Amanda who has went above and beyond. I cant recommend this establishment enough Amanda thank you for everything.

RED LION INN REVIEWS

While visiting Culross we wanted a drink and a snack and thankfully discovered this nice place The Red Lion Inn. The service was quite excellent and friendly. Chatted for a bit with what is either the owner or manager (didn’t think to ask him) about different ways to cook meat and he explained how different dishes are created. He even made Haggis sound appetizing to someone that vowed to not try it. Haha! They have a wide selection of beers and styles of food. I think we could have eaten there all week if we were staying locally. The atmosphere as you can see from the photos is just perfect for the vibe of the area. We had a lovely time.

The Red Lion is one of my favourite restaurants situated in the historic village of Culross with narrow cobbled streets, quaint cottages, sea views and Culross Palace. The Red Lion has painted ceilings, it is a character listed building, excellent food, very large portions, dog friendly indoors and outdoors, and a very quirky loo. Has it's own car park. Highly recommend.

This is such a fab place and we are so lucky to have it near our home. Locally run by the community, the food has always been fab. Great selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Booking if you want to sit inside is a must. If the weather is nice, it's first come first served outside.
