“The Exploding Bakery specialises in cakes, though they also make a small batch of country loaf sourdough using organic UK-grown flour from Cann Mills. The baking takes place on Wednesdays and Fridays, and you can pick up a loaf from their bread shelf on those days. They started in their tiny coffee shop and have grown steadily ever since, always staying true to their values and never compromising on how they believe cake should be made. Their gifting cakes and brownies come beautifully wrapped in vibrant packaging, complete with a free handwritten gift card. Enjoy great coffee, delicious lunches, toe-tapping tunes, and the best cakes in town. Dogs are always welcome.

After traveling the world, hands down Jo and the team make one of, if not the best flat white I've ever had! Along with this there's a great ambiance, open kitchen, delicious homemade treats, sandwiches and a very generous serving of frittata! Can't recommend this place more and dont bother getting a coffee anywhere else!

I have genuinely searched high and low to find a coffee shop as good as this. Quite possible my favourite ever. Their staff are so friendly, food is freshly cooked and delicious and quite honestly their coffee is the best I have ever had. I love their open kitchen and great outside summer seating. Toilet always clean, staff so attentive to anything that needs improving. A must go. To me this is the best coffee shop in the UK.

Been here a few times and it never disappoints. Lovely food and great flat white. Also nice to get away from the madness of the centre of Exeter without having to walk far. Or simply a good stop point if you are using the train.

Awesome. You can watch the full bakery at work as you eat and drink. Lovely spot, I had the chicken, mushroom and asparagus pie and some pastries and it was all delicious I would definitely come back again. The bread is also delicious. It is dog friendly.

Hoping standards have not dropped since Emma retired and sold the business, but I was surprised when I got home to see that the black bread I purchased had “best before“ of today’s date on it, so I will be more careful and check next time! If it was discounted then i should not have been charged the normal price which I was of £2.40!

This place is a real gem. The cinnamon swirl was delicious. The member of staff serving us was very friendly and helpful, making the whole experience memorable. Will definitely be back during our next visit to Exeter.

What a fantastic refurb of our Cornish pasty shop Warren's bakery . Looks fresh modern and very welcoming . Now with seating outside for 20 people comprising of four 2 seater tables and four 3 seater tables . The new doughnuts are absolutely gorgeous and a must try . Pasty are always freshly cooked and hot , ready to eat . Gives other bakeries a good run for there money !

Growing up can never beat warrens bakery from sausage rolls, gingerbread men, cupcakes to the steak and especially CHICKEN PASTIES which are to die for!! I love the fact the chicken pasties still taste exactly like when I was a kid and haven’t changed absolutely love warrens!!

Delicious cheese and onion pasty. Good pastry, thin slices of potato and onion in a well seasoned cheese sauce. Kept on a hot plate so crispy and firm. None of that soggy microwaved nonsense.
