One of their most enduringly popular dishes is their delicious seafood platter, available for dine-in and take-away by pre-order. The restaurant has a variety of soft drinks. The Company Shed offers catering services for events and functions. The restaurant offers gift cards.

THE COAST INN REVIEWS

We went to the Coast Inn on Monday lunchtime. The food and service was great. We had the fish platter with some battered fish bites and chips. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. Also, we drank Lucky Saint which was on tap. We sat upstairs and had a great view. The service was friendly too.

Thank you to The Coast Inn for hosting our annual LBRR run round Mersea Island. Everyone I spoke to was helpful before the event and all the runners commented on how good the food was. All the staff including the kitchen were able to serve us efficiently despite being descended on by 20+ hungry runners. Thank you.

Despite signs warning of delay, the food was delivered quite quickly. I had a very generous portion of whitebait followed by a roast turkey dinner. The staff were friendly and the location allows most diners at least a glimpse of the sea.

We had an excellent long lunch at the CS. Very relaxed atmosphere, great service and excellent food cooked to perfection. If you are in the area I can highly recommend the company shed and you will not be disappointed. I would also advise booking in advance as we saw many folk asking for a table but all very booked.

My friends and I went up to Mersea for a day trip from London and heard great things about The Company Shed. I was a little put off by some of the reviews and since going am a little confused by them. The food was fresh and delicious and the people working there were very helpful, polite and friendly. The place is small and quaint, so if you’re expecting a Nobu experience maybe head to London instead. We had a dog with us, so had to sit outside as was their policy (just in case you were thinking of going there in the winter with a dog and braving it as we did!) The food and service more than made up for that though. Thanks for having us.

Amazing, everything was so fresh and so delicious, best lunch I've had in ages and ages. Thr lobster and oysters were amazing... but try the salt & pepper squis too, outstanding.

Really lovely pub and restaurant. They are also dog friendly despite a review I saw on trip advisor dogs and owners made very welcome. Food was delicious excellent seafood and a great range of cask ales from local breweries. Highly recommended was a great experience Thank you Excellent local mussels in spicy tomato sauce.

There is a reason why this place is rated no1 it’s nothing short of amazing, the food we had was superb, cooked to perfection, the nicest seafood I think I’ve ever had. There was so many great choices on the menu we’ve got to go back, a lot!!. This must be the best hidden gem we have found. Miss it, miss out.

Lovely atmosphere, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The chef brought our main meal to the table and it was lovely! Totally recommend this little cozy pub when you visit Brightlingsea.
