We walked in with no booking and Dan accommodated us no problem. There was no full rack of ribs on the menu but he sorted it out and we were served a full rack of ribs. My 16oz rib-eye steak was cooked to perfection. Best steak I've eaten. Definitely will be returning.

great value fixed price menu before 6:30pm on weekdays - although bear in mind the mains are smaller than the ones on the usual menu. had the minute steak + a cheesecake, and was so full by the end. service also lovely.

I had a truly fantastic evening at Middletons in Colchester! The service was impeccable, thanks especially to young Sarah, whose knowledge of allergens was incredibly helpful and reassuring. It made our dining experience so much more comfortable and enjoyable. The chef deserves a special mention as well—the fillet steak was cooked to perfection, absolutely spot on! I couldn’t recommend this place more for anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience. Hats off to the team at Middleton for making our evening so special.

I celebrated my birthday at Preto Colchester, and it was absolutely perfect! From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding — the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the evening. The food was delicious with a fantastic variety of meats and sides, all cooked to perfection. You could really taste the authenticity and quality in every bite. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it the perfect setting for a special occasion. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate. Thank you to the entire team at Preto for making my birthday so memorable — I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends and family.

Amazing food and service. On the menu it said 6 meats. However we received 7, sirloin, rump, topside steak, sausage, spicy chicken, lemon chicken and gammon. All of which was cooked beautifully. The Gammon was probably my favourite, closely followed by the sirloin. The sides were good and my partner said the chips were very good. The service from Dan was exceptional. Thank you for an amazing meal.

Fabulous food, fabulous service, very attentive and friendly. Arthur, and the lovely lady who’s name I didn’t catch; made my daughter’s birthday really special.

Had such a wonderful evening here Tonight, was for my mums birthday and they made her feel very special without it being embarrassing. Was really lovely of them. The service, atmosphere and of course the food were all incredible. The steak, I went with 10oz fillet, with a Diane sauce, mushrooms and chips and the whole thing was amazing. Mum's food equally yummy. 100% recommend anyone who likes steak or Greek food, to please go here!!! Make sure you book, it's so popular. Gem of Colchester. Loved it. Thanks Team.

The steaks are fantastic. Service was with a smile, though they did move us. It was a busy place with a good atmosphere.

Fantastic Thursday evening out. Delicious food and huge portion sizes. This place never lets us down. Moussaka had great flavour. It's always packed so book in advance especially for large groups. I had the smallest steak and it was still huge. Ordered a side of sautéed potatoes and peppercorn sauce which came in bucketloads.
