“Blackfriars Restaurant is an award-winning restaurant that serves British cuisine at heavy wooden tables in the former refectory of a friary dating from 1239. I recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment and was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and expertly prepared dishes. The service was equally outstanding, with attentive and friendly staff. I especially appreciated the warm and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. I will definitely be returning soon.

We visited here as part of a walking food tour. The building is beautiful with loads of history and a beautiful garden to dine in if you get good weather. We only had 1 course here but it was my favourite. Well presented and so tasty. This was whipped goats cheese with beetroot and candied walnuts, served with onion sourdough.

Attended last night as we got a voucher for Christmas last year and just forgot all about it. Can honestly say it was the NICEST meal I’ve ever had in my life. I had the chicken liver parfait as a starter, the duck breast for main, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The waiter was very knowledgeable about accompanying wines and they went perfectly with our food. All 4 of us can’t wait to come back! Thank you so much.

A fantastic dining experience with beautifully crafted food and superb service. One of the best places for fine dining in Newcastle. Highlights were the cheese soufflé and the sirloin steak. Even simple things like the baguette (made in-house) and butter were excellent.

Fantastic food. Good range of choice. Very accomodating and can cater/adjust menu for gluten free. Great service by friendly staff.

Hear me out. Get yourself the Halibut and a cherry Liefmans belgian beer and you'll have a great time. The beer was more toward a sparkling wine than a beer and it paired amazingly with the fish which was cooked to perfection. We also had the rump steak burger which was good value for money and again cooked perfectly but nothing amazing. Deserts were also good but not needed. For atmosphere and staff it's an easy5/5.

Little bit of a gushy review but I can hands down say this is my absolute favourite place to eat in town! My partner and I have been frequently in the past few years and have never been served anything less than perfection! Service is absolutely outstanding with knowledgeable and attentive staff and the food……superlative! Fish dishes; fresh, well balanced and delicious and oh my word the lamb sharing main just make sure you don’t eat for 24 hours beforehand if you want to finish it (although the staff are very happy to wrap up for you too). All in all, outstanding! Can’t wait for my next outing to The Broad Chare

Absolute best Sunday roast I've had since moving up here a year ago. We ordered the veggie roast which came with bubble and squeak; pork belly and the beef. Everything was flavoured beautifully and the roast potatoes were incredible. Definitely coming back
