Blackfriars Restaurant is an award-winning restaurant that serves British cuisine at heavy wooden tables in the former refectory of a friary dating from 1239. Over the years, Blackfriars has expanded from the friar's refectory dining room to almost all the remaining claustral out-buildings and today provides a Banquet Hall, Parlour Bar, Cookery School and Tasting Room as well as several function/meeting rooms. Enjoy their happy-hour food, a cosy fireplace, and gift vouchers available for purchase.

2025 Update: Blackfriars Restaurant is located in a former 13th-century refectory, believed to be the oldest dining room in the UK. For larger gatherings, their 50-seater Medieval Banquet Hall (minimum 12 guests) hosts medieval banquets for corporate and private functions. For more intimate dining, they offer their ornate Cookery School dining table (seats 14) and Tasting Room (up to 18 guests). Each space is perfect for private dining experiences.
