Scott and Lauren were warm and welcoming and the pub has a new menu. Food was excellent and choice was much improved. I had the Scallops to start and a lovely red wine and fennel sausages. They have really gone out of the way for dogs which is great I’ll definitely be bringing mine next time. Place looks very smart inside much better than before. A clear day so great views over to the IOW.

What a lovely place plenty of parking dog friendly lovely food and drink friendly staff popped in here today Sunday was yummy lots of it definitely will be back well worth a visit.

We visited for lunch. One couple ordered at the bar and the other ordered online via the App. A lovely lady came over and asked if we wanted our food served at the same time. Such a nice touch. Food was delicious and served so quickly. Toilets were spotlessly clean. Decor in pub was very tasteful and we felt so 'at home'. Thank you so much. We will visit again.

Lovely scenic spot for Sunday roast. Really enjoyed the view over the water from the Upper Deck and the tasty roast chicken and pork roasts with lots of veg and Yorkshire puddings.

Great views, tasty food, delicious in fact , nice friendly service , been to this place many times and always come back ; highly recommended to visit, best place in the city , but can be busy. Look forward to be returning.

There aren't really many better ways to while away and afternoon than this. Gorgeous historic pub with a fantastic offering of beers, lagers, ciders and also excellent draught non-alcoholic lager! Food is always very good too and with views like that, it's never a trip one is likely to regret.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Portsmouth Harbour, The Ship Anson is a delightful haven offering comforting cuisine at reasonable prices. We had the BBQ chicken and steak and ale pie which were great. Moreover, the inviting ambiance and affable staff contribute to making our visit feel comfortable and welcoming.

My daughter is a vegetarian, and she told me it's hard to get a veggie burger "right." The one at Ship Anson was so good, she was dreaming about it for the rest of our trip to England! I had the vegetarian chili, and it, also, was the best meal of my vacation. Highly recommended.

The first pub I ever had a pint in - sometime around September 1981. Pint of bitter tops. Just been to visit again. Awesome place, delicious food, and a massive selection of ales, All served by wonderful staff. Love the place. See you next year.
