Really lovely, young polite lass working here, pleasant and welcoming. It was busy and popular when I called in with an ongoing stream of customers. Eat in or take out. Range of Cornish pasties and also some yummy bakes, very good range and tasty too. I was tempted by several but plumped for a hefty slab of Cornwall cake, so I'll just have to revisit to try their other treats, awww shucks, quelle chore, ha. This veggie friendly slab contained blueberries, raspberries etc and was good. Cinnamon on my hot chocolate too. Very obliging staff.

This review is long overdue and for that I am truly sorry - these guys are amazing. Their food is wonderful, and their customer service is out of this world amazing. They truly made a huge difference for us when we visited. Thank you so so so much for helping us celebrate our wee one’s birthday - you went above and beyond to get her something she can actually have (lactose intolerant) and the candle you added was a touch we had never expected. Thank you for making it such a memorable birthday, we will honestly never forget it.

Very nice coffee, delicious flavour. The Pistachio croissant was incredible, definitely popping in for one of those every time I visit York in future. Fabulous to see the coffee is fair trade as well, so we'll be stopping here for coffee before we go to Minster Gate books.

If I could give 5 more stars to this bakery, I would. This is a small, takeaway only shop in one of the Shambles lanes. We got their five spice roll and the spinach chickpea roll — and both were absolutely outstanding even cold! The flavors are so absolutely on point and so delicious that we will be going back tomorrow before our train back to London to pick some more up to take home!

Loved the city, York ????????, loved the market place, loved the street location, loved the shop… and really loved the food! Freshly made daily. Quaint decor to match the entire setting. A quite varied delicious selections. We enjoyed a tasty unique creation, a tomato and olives rolled in a seasoned baked pasty. Delish! We engaged in a conversation w the lovely lady running the shop, perhaps the owner. Describing their bake process made this taste even better!

What a lovely little bakery! I was dashing by when I saw one of my most-sought UK baked goods on days display in the window. It turned out to be their last lemon Eccles cake. I found it quite delicious: the outside crunchy with pastry and sugar, the inside packed with sultanas and fresh lemony flavor. If all their goodies are this delicious, wow.

A fab little bakery selling the most amazing sourdough bread! Crunchy and chewy on the outside and lovely and soft on the inside! We also love the garlic focaccia. It didn’t last long! As soon as we got in the car, we shared it all! It was meant to go with some soup later, but was too irresistible. The focaccia was soft and moreish! I could have eaten another 2!! They also sell fresh pizzas and pastas and cakes! Will be back again to try the other goodies!

Fantastic bakery here! Came in the other day on my way by to be treated to an amazing selection of breads, cakes, pizzas and more! I bought a loaf of bread and a cheese pizza square and I have to say I was delighted by how sensible the pricing is and how tasty the food was! 100% recommend it’s great!

Love this bakery and always make a beeline for it after yoga! The cinnamon buns are heaven and the blueberry croissants are just so delicious. Lovely staff and you best get in early because their wares fly off the shelf!
