WAGAMAMA YORK CITY CENTRE REVIEWS

We were served by Jasmine with her huge smile and electric energy she made us feel extremely welcome, her knowledge of the cuisine, (especially tea eggs) was nothing short of amazing. Her and my old uni Pal (who usually resides in China) really kicked it off over the Eggs. She offered me some very user friendly chopsticks too, which were way better than the real thing. If I could make one criticism, her drink suggestion wasn't so great, but I appreciate her enthusiasm never the less. Thank you Jasmine!

As I walked in the restaurant staff were quick to notice me and let me know they will be with me. Two members of staff said they would seat me. A female member of staff called Tina promptly seated me and asked me about allergies on two occasions before eating food. She was polite and ensured I ordered exactly what I wanted. Food was hot and tasted amazing. Paying for the food online was easy to do and Tina was helpful with this also. All staff seem happy and always look proactive. Service was very quick also. Highly recommend.

First time visiting wagamama, very pleased with the food and service we had the King oyster mushrooms, miso salmon, and ginger cheesecake and cherry blossom drink. Was all very delicious and will be visiting again.

Really amazing food, best quality matcha I’ve had in the country! When the food came out it seemed too little for what I paid for, but it was in fact so hearty and filling and the flavours were perfectly balanced! Same goes to the pickle and veg sides. Didn’t feel sick or too horrendously full after, felt right. I appreciated the sesame oil and 7-spice seasoning on the side as well. All round a great experience, would go again!

Absolutely amazing - surpassed all expectations. Drinks great, food great, desserts great. Plenty of gluten free options. Service prompt and staff very friendly. As other reviewers have mentioned - it is traditional authentic Japanese food and very tasty. One of the best Japanese restaurants I've been to in the UK. This restaurant is a real gem and deserves a 5 star review from me. Well done to the owners and staff and thank you for opening such a lovely restaurant.

Amazing find! Food is delicious, probably the best miso soup I ever had. Friendly service. Cute outdoor seating area. Definitely worth a visit. Kid-friendliness: Kids friendly.

Authentic little Japanese, delicious miso and a good variety of food and drinks on the menu for a reasonable price. Cash only, but I promise you it’ll be worth going to get cash out for! Friendly owners, would definitely recommend for a quiet lunch away from the main busy streets in York.

Fab service! Authentic food! Not too salty and love the homemade miso soup! Great options for vegan and veg! Def worth the visit for quality and service. Clean and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended! Love the way the tofu was cooked..very different from normal takeaway!

The Katsu Don is incredible. Don't be hesitate and go try this incredible place. The service is friendly and quick. Thank you x
