2025 Update: Bettys can provide a portable induction hearing loop, chairs for customers who are unable to queue or have difficulty standing, and a portable ramp to enable wheelchair access from the street. The cafe was founded by Frederick Belmont. If you're searching for delicious savoury and sweet, look no further. The specials menu is out of this world, with The London Fog providing a taste explosion in your mouth, and pumpkin french toast perfectly balancing salty sweetness. But the big brew brioche sandwich on the regular menu is my favourite, and the staff are super chill about any special requests. Beware, even on a rainy Monday morning there was a queue to be seated, but it was well worth the wait!.

Cosy little place, serving great coffee and food. We went for the sweetcorn fritters and the apple crumble pancake stack and both were lovely. My latte was particularly good, with super smooth steamed milk making for a great texture. The service was excellent.

What a great little cafe! We were out & about in York looking for a good breakfast place when we stumbled upon this place. It's small & packed so we knew it must be good. There was a little bit of a wait time as they only had a few tables but the food was worth the wait. All baked goods were made fresh daily and their service was very warm like their coffees!.

One of the best (if not the best) croque monsieur I have ever had. I will never forget the size of the ration either. And the flat white that I had was pretty good, too. Plus comfortable chairs, nice atmosphere…five well deserved stars to this coffee shop. Bravo!.

One of the best coffees that I've ever had. I wish I could visit them more while I was in York - will definitely revisit if I'm in the city again. The food choices are really good as well. Excellent spot for brunch. Check them out.

We ordered latte, egg florentine, pancakes, sweets, and bread. The food is delicious, the place is crowded and cramped but over all good and they have bruch also. I recomended it.

BETTYS REVIEWS

A trip to York isn't complete without a visit to Betty's Tea Rooms. Pre booking is a must unless you want to queue outside for a table. It is like being transported back to the 1930s. The service, style and elegance with which this place is noted for is abundant. The food was delicious, and you'd be surprised how full you become after eating Afternoon Tea, please try Betty's you will not be disappointed.

Seriously, it's worth every penny. It is such a good atmosphere, and the staff are accommodating and friendly. They will instantly compensate you in case of any mishaps. My partner and I enjoyed our two visits here, one for his birthday celebration. I would definitely recommend buying someone their voucher as a gift!

Such a delightful spread of Englisg Afternoon Tea. Beautifully crafted scone of many flavours. The clotted cream is superb and not to mention the strawberry preserved. Worth the wait in the queue. Highly recommended.
