Really loved it here. Booked via telephone as we knew it'd be busy and we weren't wrong. Place was packed just half hour of opening. Easy to see why! Great priced food that's delicious. We got a 2 course lunch menu and a carafe of wine and it was just over 40quid for 2 people. Had mussels and steak for mains. The mussels tasted lovely and fresh, the steak was juicy and the frites were perfection. The staff were attentive and helpful, which is appreciated considering how busy they were. A great atmosphere too. Also loved the translation guide on the back of the cocktail menu. Will definitely be back.

Every single dish we got was absolutely delicious. Onion rings were crispy and not greasy at all. We got the steak tartare and the confit de canard. Fries were nice and crispy and the steak was perfectly cooked. The duck tasted amazing as it wasn't dry at all. For dessert we got the sticky toffee pudding and it was one of the best desserts I've had during my trip. Highly recommend this place however it does get very packed during dinner hours.

A must visit in Edinburgh. We enjoyed the lunch special with a few extras on the side. The service was smooth and efficient and the food was fresh & tasty. Highly recommend!

Top marks for a top place. A lovely environment in which to relax and eat with really attentive staff eager to make your evening memorable. Great prices, fabulous food, nice decor and the perfect atmospheric buzz meant our meal was much more than that and I can't recommend a visit here strongly enough. Definitely a valuable part of what makes Grassmarket vibrant and special.

Lovely French restaurant at Grassmarket. Tried the pre-theatre deal - 1 starter & 1 main course & coffee and it was lovely. The tomato soup was appetizing and the fish was tender. Strongly recommend the creme brulee - it melted in my mouth! The staff were very friendly and atmosphere was cheerful. It made my day.

Excellent french restaurant, the onion was the best I ever had it so far in my life. Fresh daily fish was good as well. Fresh baget was very good. Very kind and attentive staff.

Top notch service! We got their 25th anniversary menu. The first few courses (tartare, ceviche, scallops, foie gras) were simply incredible, no notes. The flavors of the next few dishes, the grouse and monkfish (admittedly not my favorite type of fish), seemed muddled. The desserts were satisfactory but nothing that blew us out of the water.

This has to be one of the best fine dining, tasting experiences we have had, and we are seasoned fine diners. From start to finish, everything was perfect. The head waiter and staff were amazing, they couldn't do enough for you. We had the anniversary tasting menu, and it was superb, not one dish could we find fault with. My daughter even said it was the best meal she ever had. Highly recommend to anyone.

We went to celebrate an anniversary. We enjoyed the tasting menu for dinner and it was excellent! Stand out aspects were the beetroot horseradish macaron, halibut ceviche, Orkney scallop with caviar. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. The decor is elegant and understated. It was a wonderful experience and we will be back. Highly recommended!!!!
