MUSSEL INN REVIEWS

Amazing and friendly service, especially considering how busy it was (on a Tuesday evening as well, which is a good sign). The food was incredible - everything we ate was perfectly cooked and easily amongst the best seafood we've eaten. I forgot to photograph the mussel pot we also ate (too busy eating), but they were as easily as good as everything else we ordered. The chilled oysters were really fresh, to the point where my girlfriend had 3, and she's normally not a massive fan. We have both said that this is the only place we would both come back to of the many good places we've tried as there are so many good places to eat in Edinburgh, but the food here was truly exceptional.

We were lucky to find a table around 5pm in the afternoon. Online reservation is strongly suggested. All of our orders were delicious and we were really happy from our meal. Seafood chowder large is really big, we shared with my husband. There is a plenty of seaffod in this creamy soup and taste is great. Hot seafood platter is really nice to try everyting and many mussels in this platter. Shellfish pasta is also tasty and not very creamy which i like. There are tables outside also for summer time. For seafood lovers, this place is suggested.

The clam chowder is delicious! It's quite different from other places and highly recommended. The oysters are a little bit small. The seafood platter is rich and varied, with plenty of mussels. Even the small bucket of mussels has a generous amount.

FISHERS IN THE CITY REVIEWS

From the Classic Fish and Chips to the special 1/2 lobster and fresh local diver scallops, this is a tucked away gem not to be missed. The meals were very reasonably priced as was the well rounded selection of international wines. The staff were all highly engaged, knowledgeable and welcoming. If you don’t have a reservation, the bar is a great place to slip in for an amazing last minute meal.

Amazing service with great recommendations, food arrived fast and it was absolutely delicious. The oysters were fresh and tasty, halibut cooked to perfection with a really special sauce. We were so full but still went for a recommended cheese cake and didn’t regret it. Will come again, thank you.

We ate here Sunday. We came at 12 noon when they first opened without reservations. We had tickets for the castle 1:15, so we needed to eat quickly and depart. We explained this and the staff took very good care of us. The fish soup was the best we ever had. Our son had the Fish & Chips and said it was the best he had on our entire trip to the UK (this was our last day of a 15 day trip). The atmosphere was terrific, the restaurant is situated on a quiet street a few blocks away from the madness on Princes street and the staff is very friendly. I usually only review restaurants if they get everything right and they certainly did.

THE SHIP ON THE SHORE REVIEWS

It was a freezing cold day and though we were tempted by the inviting looking seafood platter we opted for the warming paella. Having been to Spain many times, I can honestly say this was the best paella I have ever eaten. The rice was cooked to perfection and the pan was crammed with all sorts of cooked fish and shellfish. At just under £40 for two for a mountain of tasty seafood and rice, it was a fantastic lunch! Well done.

After a long morning of walking throughout Edinburgh, ran across this nice little restaurant. The place was spotless, nice décor, in big on various types of champagne. Seafood platters looked awesome. Since it was just me stayed with the fish and chips and a pint of a Scottish Ale. Wait staff were friendly and very attentive. The place started to fill up as I was leaving and each table was greeted promptly and everything in terms of drinks and orders moved smoothly. Great place.

We were very happy campers. The food, especially mussels and fish pie were fantastic. Service was great. Not cheap, but very much recommended by us.
